General Travel Information

Madrid, Spain

Do I need a visa?

For most of the countries we serve, visas are not required for U.S. citizens, with the exception of Egypt and Turkey. For a complete listing of visa requirements, visit the following website: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html. Canadian citizens should visit the following website: http://travel.gc.ca/travelling/documents/visas.

What are the passport requirements?

You will need a valid U.S. Passport for entry into any foreign country. Most foreign countries require that your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry. If you do not have a passport, you should apply well in advance. Passport demand is seasonal, with peak periods falling between January and July. We recommend applying outside these times whenever possible. For complete information regarding U.S. Passport services, including how to apply for new passports and renewals, visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html. Canadian citizens should visit https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports.html.

How can I contact the U.S. Embassies abroad?

It is always wise to have contact information for U.S. Embassies and Consulates for the countries you plan to visit. A complete listing of U.S. embassies can be found at http://www.usembassy.gov/. Canadian citizens should visit http://w03.international.gc.ca/CRA-RCE/index.aspx.

What about currency exchange?

In your welcome packet, you will recieve a foreign currency "cheat sheet" updated with current exchange rates. Most of Europe has adopted the Euro. Before you depart, you can check foreign exchange rates at your local bank, or on the web at: http://www.oanda.com/convert/cheatsheet.

How do I pay for my trip?

Deposits and insurance payments will be accepted in the form of check, money order, or credit card. A discount will apply for payments made entirely by personal check, money order, or certified bank check (rather than credit card). Your tour brochure includes an enrollment form that outlines your payment schedule.
