Tour Description

Madrid | Toledo | El Escorial | Segovia | Avila | Salamanca | Fatima

photoThis pilgrimage gives you the opportunity to visit sites important in the lives of some of our most beloved saints. The journey begins in the capital of Spain. Participate at Mass in the Basilica of St. Miguel, the most appropriate beginning for a spiritual journey. Visit Toledo where St. John of the Cross, while imprisoned, composed his most famous poem Spiritual Canticle. Celebrate Mass at his tomb in Segovia and see the Alcazar fortress palace of Queen Isabella. Travel through Spain, visiting Avila, the home of St. Teresa, and the Carmelite Convent Descalzos. The program concludes with a visit to Fatima. The Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima is a national shrine in Portugal built on the site where three young peasant shepherds first saw a "lady brighter than the sun." The appearance of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary, to the shepherd children of Fatima has established and spread devotion in the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Participation in the evening torchlight procession and recitation of the Rosary will leave a lasting impression upon your pilgrim heart.
