International Festival of Sacred Music Cantus MM

Vienna Program

Day 1 | Friday | Arrive Vienna

ViennaMorning: Arrival and check in at your hotel.

Late Afternoon: Information Hour for the choir directors together with the organization committee and the artistic director of the festival, Kurt-Martin Herbst.

Evening: Opening Ceremony of the festival, Reception and official welcome of all participants and musicians.

Day 2 | Saturday | AM/Rehearsal | PM/Evening Mass-service

Morning: Rehearsal (place to be confirmed) for the common Sunday morning Cantus MM Festival Mass

Afternoon: Possibility for guided city sightseeing tour/excursion.

Evening: Individual organization for the participating choirs to sing during an evening Mass-service in one of the numerous churches of Vienna - followed by a short concert or common concert organization.

Day 3 | Sunday

Morning: Cantus MM Festival Mass at Votivkirche sung by all choral participants, conducted by Kurt-Martin Herbst.

Evening: Closing Ceremony with gala-buffet dinner. Selected choirs will each perform a 10-15 minute concert. The Society Chorus MM will host typical Austrian music entertainment. All participating groups are invited to join in the musical program. The closing ceremony includes the distribution of memory certificates to each choir and commemorative presents to each choral participant from the President of Chorus MM.

Day 4 | Monday

Individual departures or possible extension.

The organizer reserves the right to make changes required for technical reasons.

Optional additional days and concerts in Europe: If you and your choir are interested in extending your stay in Europe, we will be glad to help make arrangements for you. Possible extensions to Munich, Salzburg, Budapest, Prague and other cities are available. Peter’s Way can make additional concert arrangements upon request at palaces, community centers, resort areas, and abbeys, as well as liturgical settings in landmark venues.
